1975-THE BEGINNING

"In the 16th century the first galleons appeared, grand 3 masted vessels in wood.  Used for trade, transporting men and merchandise to far off lands, they became warships when they were captured."

In 1974 "Le Galion" was the name given to a little watersports centre on the beach at Rivedoux on the Ile de Ré where the principal activity was a sailing school, but at the end of September 1974, "le Galion" weighed anchor.  In April 1975, Jean-Yves landed on the magnificent naturist beach in Cap d'Agde, still covered at the time in seashells.  You're 20 years old, you're living in the nude, you're working on the seashore.  You make your own paradise...  "Le Galion" grows slowly with the rhythm of the seasons, the waves and friends.  The 80's see the first windsurfers and hobie cats.  1986 the first sunbeds. 1987 salads and refreshments.  1988 the colour yellow takes over "Paradise exists, it's yellow, and you've just found it."

"Le Galion" is a meeting place where holidaymakers look forward to seeing old friends year after year.  The children grow up between sand and sea.  The years pass, life is good... every day.

2009.  Jean-Yves awaits you with as much pleasure as ever... and every day the sunrise is still magical.
